I spilled a few ounces of protein shake on my keyboard and haven’t been able to boot my machine. I was cleaning the logic board, when I notices that one of the brown rectangle receptacles only had one silver side to it.

Do i need to order a replacement receptacle? Or is the missing silver part soldering material? Also, a couple of the white dots on the logic board are now brown, or gone completely. Are the tiny white dots necessary for the board to run? If so, how can I add a white dot to the missing space? Thanks so much in advance! Update

Thanks!

Tim, you were absolutely correct6. I improperly identified the capacitor. It is in fact reference designator C6990 which is a 10UF 25V 10% capacitor in a 0805 package. It is part of the DC-in Battery connector circuit. I learned over the last year to properly position attached images to identify components :-) My apologies about sending you down the wrong path. I will reimburse you for the parts that you purchased based on my erroneous identification. Please use my avatar and email me.

Can you confirm that the parts you recommended are in fact the ones I need? I attached a much better picture of the same model, working logic board, below. I am also concerned about the size of the parts you suggested. GRM188 is a 603 package, but your diagram says 402. And, the GRM188 is 0.8mm tall, but the one i have is about 0.4mm tall. Most of the capacitors (including those closest to the one in question) are 0.8mm wide by 0.8mm tall, however, this capacitor is the only capacitor (at least on this side) that is roughly 1.6 L / 0.8 W / 0.4mm H. The LD02 doesn’t appear to be the right size either. Would you mind checking again for me? I’m a student, and you would really be helping me out a lot. Lastly, can i just solder the missing side? Or are the remaining parts busted? Thank you so so much!!!

Hi Tim I have got similar problem can’t find part or can’t even identify can you please help
