Screen display of Flex 5-1570, was erratic after Windows 10 update. Currently it shows black screen/white flickering screen/vertical lines. Windows opens in safe mode for a very short time to complete the repair Windows or change display drivers. Broken Touch screen requires replacement. Can it be done? Any help would be welcome.
Hi @a08, Have you checked that it is the display that is the problem by connecting an external monitor (TV?) to the laptop and checking if its’ display is OK? If the external monitor is OK then try pressing down on the laptop’s right side lid hinge and check if this affects the display at all. The video cable passes through the right hinge to get from the motherboard to the screen and it can sometimes get damaged there. Here’s the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop. Go to p.52 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the LCD assembly. This will allow you to inspect the video cable for any damage and if it is OK then most probably the problem is in the screen. Here’s the parts list for the laptop, (click on Select Commodity > LCD assemblies). Search online for 5D10N46974 (FHD screen -1920 x 1080 touch display) to get results for suppliers of the type of screen that you want.
