When I finish upgrading my 2011 I will have the ram that originally came in it. Can I use it on my even older mac book? Is that a good or bad idea?
Using a 2011 RAM on a 2010 Macbook should be possible, they have the same size and need same voltages. Specifications though are different as the 2011 Pros use a faster memory. Macs are a bit picky with RAM sometimes, you’ll have a definitive answer only by trying. If you have three beeping sounds at startup or experience kernel panics you’ll have to put back the older one, but it’s worth a try.
