I bought a new laptop hp 15 ay078tx can I use an ssd for booting and keep that 1 TB HDD for storage?

Hi, You can but it will be at the cost of losing your ODD (Optical Disc Drive). Remove the HDD so that the SSD can sit in its’ position and you will have to buy a ‘caddy’ so that the HDD can be installed in the ODD position. When installing the SSD because it may be slimmer than the original HDD you may have to have it supported with some padding so as to not place too much strain on the connectors.
