Hey folks! Hope that you’re staying safe. My personal MBP is one from Late 2011 that suffered the graphics issue twice already. At the moment, is obviously out of warranty and/or parts and i’m using it by some tweaks that i saw online where the problematic GPU gets disabled. It’s very limited but it works. However, i recently come across some old MBP early 2011 that soon will be sent to the trash. I don’t know whats wrong with them but i’m keeping some of the parts to replace some issues that may come with machines from that age. My question is: would it be able to use one of the logicboards from the Early 2011 on my Late 2011 without any problem? I only replaced from the same age and since it’s my personal computer (an old one, i know.. but hey, it’s kind of working), i’m a bit scared of screwing up. Thanks!

Sure you can use the Early board in your system. But the bummer here is the same AMD GPU issues are present within it as well ;-{ Early 2011 - AMD Radeon HD 6490M or 6750M and Intel HD Graphics 3000Late 2011 - AMD Radeon HD 6750M or 6770M and Intel HD Graphics 3000 While you don’t have access to it I would try to find a 2012 logic board as that gets you off the AMD issues! Mid 2012 - NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M and Intel HD Graphics 4000 The system I’m banging on is a Late 2011 which now has a 2012 logic board and after 4 swap outs its been the most stable! Here’s the Apple P/N’s for them: 661-6491 - 2.3GHz i7661-6492 - 2.6GHz i7661-6493 - 2.7GHz i7 They are getting hard to find but well worth it!
