I have a cigarette lighter adapter which is part of my inverter that has a blown fuse. The one in it was a 15A at 250V Glass Fuse but the one that i can find at my local radioshack is 15A 250V CERAMIC Fuse. Can i use the ceramic fuse in place of the glass one or will it cause damage? Also there is a 15A 125V Glass fuse and the power that is being used in only 12v so could I use that instead?
I would stick to the same fuse type. Ceramic fuses will “blow” much more slowly and could cause lots of upstream/downstream damage if the rest of the circuit isn’t expecting extra current. You may want to do some reading.
