Solved Can I Use A 2 Tb Drive To Replace A 1Tb Apple Time Capsule

I have a first generation Time Capsule, version 6,106. The drive seems to have gone bad and I’d like to replace it. Does anyone know if I can upgrade the drive to a 2 TB capacity rather than the 1 TB that it shipped with? Many thanks!

Yes, it can be done! A 2 or 3 TB WD Green drive should be just fine here. I would recommend opening the fans venting a bit. You will use the AirPort configuration tool to prep the drive (it does not use either a Mac or Windows file system).
