I have a late 2012 27" A1419 slim iMac and the glass is broken and cracked. The lcd itself is fine but understand you have to replace the whole display. My question is after searching eBay etc I have found that this one for example: iMac A1419 LM270QQ1(SD)(A2) IPS Retina 5K Display LCD Screen Late 2014 seems to be cheaper than the standard screen for my iMac. So would love to know if these retina 5k displays would fit my late 2012 A1419 iMac. Thanks.
Sadly No, the displays use different video interfaces internally. Review the 5K iMac teardown image here: 5K display the drivers here are expecting a different signal from the older model.
