I have a MacBook Air 11" mid 2013 that came with 4GB RAM and 128GB hard drive. I want to upgrade the RAM to 8GB so I can run Vmware more efficiently with windows 8.1 and other software that don’t run on the mac-side.

Sadly, no Apple soldered the RAM to the logic board. You can upgrade the SSD! It’s replaceable.
