Apple has offered a generous trade-in deal for a limited time in order to boost slacking XR sales. I’ve recently replaced an iPhome 6S battery with an iFixit battery to prolong the life of the phone till I’m saved up for a new one. The phone works great and has been preserved in a LifeProof case. Can I get away with or has anyone gotten away with trading in a iPhone with a non-OEM battery via Apple’s Trade-In Program?
Follow up! Apple approved the trade in with the iFixit battery! I will be refunded $200 a part of Apple’s 2018 desperate holiday deal for the iPhone XR. Process took 2.5 weeks from ordering the iPhone XR to getting the email for the approved refund of trade in. It says part of it may be refunded as an Apple Store gift card, I hope that’s not the case.
Before you reach out to take Apples generous offer of a $100, Take a moment to go to eBay and see what yours would sell for. Make sure the ones you are looking at are working and not locked. It’s probably worth at least twice what Apple will give you. If not, I’ll buy it as I don’t care about the battery. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4…
You should be OK if your phone shows no signs of tampering.
