Hi I have 32GB of old pictures on my 3gs iphone but I remember my phone stopped charging years ago and it had issues with charging dock(disconnecting/loose connection ) and suddenly stopped charging and when battery drained it never charged and powered up again.(tried many cables) so my question is Can I test a new charger dock (picture attached) without tearing down the whole phone and mainboard and just connecting the charging dock connector(cuz it’s right under LCD when I open the phone. no 4) and backup my photos cuz i dont need the phone anymore?

this is the thing im gonna buy to revive my phone :D '

’ Update (01/25/2020) @imicrosoldering so i’ve done what i said before like the picture below but failed to start the phone :/

and i didnt find a good battery to replace it and test again. Is it important to solder 2 tiny points in the picture?

You should be able to do this as long as you get the two connectors to fit properly. A word of warning. ·         Install a new battery Do not attempt to use no battery or the battery you originally had. This is an old phone and you don’t want to take the risk of a faulty battery sending error data to the CPU, it could cause the phone to want to update. This scenario would probably be a deal breaker if your storage is near full.
