Hello, I’m going to get a 2.1 ghz C2D MacBook (white) with a broken keyboard for 40$. I can just use it with an external keyboard. But, the main reason I want a Mac is to run Final Cut Pro X. Obviously I’m not going to be editing 1080p video, but just to tinker with and figure out how to use. I have a copy of Final Cut Pro X 10.0.8 that I tested on another Mac. So, would this MacBook run Final Cut Pro? Or should I just get a Mac mini and upgrade the CPU?

Sadly, no. The issue here is systems hardware, a full 64bit platform is required to run Final Cut Pro X. You’ll need a i5 or i7 CPU based system running Mavericks or newer.

isn’t the c2d in a macbook pro 2008 and macbook 2010 or newer 64 bit? I know my old mbp was a 64 bit as it ran el capitain. As well as the macbook white unibody from 2010 with a 2.4 ghz cpu that runs sierra. ooh sorry didn’t know we were talking about the macbook in the photo :I
