I was wandering can you replace the processor within the mac, I know you can replace the memory but was wandering if you could also replace the processor and what processor would be suitable without harming the computer also are there other ways to speed up the computer along with the memory and processor change.
Your limited to the Core 2 Duo CPU’s within the given system series. The newer i (i3,i5 & i7) series use a different socket and support logic.
If the early 2009 iMac lineup comes with either a E8135 or E8335 Core 2 Duo processor, or in some 24-inch models a E8435 processor, can a E8435 processor or a Core 2 Extreme X9100 be installed on the 20-inch iMac? How come a CPU replacement guide was never published on this site for this model?
