Is it possible to change just the glass on a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. I saw a tutorial on YouTube and it looks very risky, but he did it. Without having to replace the Super Amoled screen, which makes the whole replacement so expensive. Is it possible to just replace the glass and not the led/digitalizer? I have heard and read you can’t, but after seeing the video I want to attempt it. I need to change the back glass anyways. What are your opinions?
Hi @bflores357 , Replacing just the glass is indeed risky. The AMOLED layer underneath it is VERY fragile and cracks very easily. The panel is also glued to the glass around the edges, and because it’s curved, it’s difficult to not damage the AMOLED around the edges. I think specialty tools and lots of practice helps with the success rate, but it’s definitely tricky to do.
