Rubber hand grips on EOS 300D are deteriorating and smudging anything they touch. Can I replace them without replacing the cases?

Use some rubbing alcohol and just wipe the thin layer of sticky off. It will be smooth and shiny when done, not as slip proof as before, but the stickiness will be gone. No need to scrape it off, just a cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol. It will rub off the black layer of anti-slip coating. The cloth will turn black as you rub it off.
