I have an iPhone 7 plus that does not charge. I faced this problem a couple of months back too. I went and had it repaired in a repair shop and they told something that i could not understand. They also said that my phone damaged a couple of their flex too. I donot know what they were talking about and other thing is that the phone would charge if the lightning connector was connected on one side only. Meaning that the other side of the lightning connector wouldnot charge my phone. It worked on both sides till now though so i was hoping if replacing the charging port could solve my problem. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s unfortunate that you don’t remember or understood what the shop told you because it was certainly important. If you feel like you are being bamboozled, ask them to explain it again…it’s usually important. Yes, you can replace the charge port but based on the history of the device and the symptoms it exhibits, I would suspect something may be wrong with the charge circuit on the logic board. Of course, the first step in diagnosing this correctly is to try a replacement charge port. If you do it yourself, you will have to buy the part upfront. Another option is to find a reputable shop that does micro-soldering as they will be able to dig a little deeper.
