Will my macbook support a newer “ac” wi-fi card from a newer macbook? Here is my macbook pro / specs: http://support.apple.com/kb/SP653?viewlo… MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2012) [2.3ghz i7] I want to replace my current N wifi with a newer AC wifi card.
While the Airport cards is removable and could be swapped out. The benefits of the 802.11ac Airport card in this system will be minimal as you don’t have the needed antennas to gain the full benefit of the swap-out. You would need to also swap out the lid assembly to gain the needed antennas.
