I have a MacBook Air with a damaged keyboard as it’s missing a down arrow key. I have a non retina keyboard. I was wondering if I could just use that key for it. Or maybe a retina(2014) key? Is this possible?

The keys will not be compatible. You will be better off tracking down the single key on eBay. I have done a keyboard replacement on a MacBook Pro and it’s not for the faint of heart, It requires you to use pliers to rip the old keyboard out and it’s 100+ rivets. Then on reassemble there’s over 100+ screw to put back in to replace the rivets that were ripped out. I have also taken a look on here for a keyboard replacement guide but there doesn’t appear to be one here. Youtube have a few videos including Louis Rossmann :D Again if you can find the single key for your Macbook 2014 then I would go that route. Sorry, the keyboard you have is compatible. Hope this helps some :)
