I can’t fix the broken LVSD connector right now so I was wondering if I could power the Mac up to use it with an external monitor (if it actually even works with the LVSD connector broken, I dunno). In other words is it true that I could further damage my logic board by using my iMac with that connector broken? PS. As I’ve seen question wasn’t completely clear, my LVSD connector fell of the motherboard. It’s not on the motherboard anymore. And when I ask about motherboard damage I’m asking about burn some resistances and things like that. BONUS Since I’m thinking about fixing the component myself, what temperature should I use on the motherboard?

I don’t see any problem with using an external monitor, that’s what I do to test out problems. Bonus - What? Unless you plan on changing the hard drive, or already have, there’s no temperature issues. There is if you’ve changed the hard drive. So let us know.
