Hi, I’ve seen some questions much like this one, but they’re relatively old so I thought I’d ask for an answer that’s more relevant to the world of 2017! So I have a non retina Macbook Pro 13" Intel i5 that came with 4gb of ram and a 500gb HDD. It’s from around 2013, couldn’t find the specific model listed on the device list. Anyhow I bumped it’s specs a bit, it now has 16gb of RAM and a 512 SSD. It really functions well overall so I thought that I may be able to upgrade the screen too as it’s kind of old fashioned, I can literally see the pixels on it. I’d love to know if there is a screen with a higher resolution that’d fit this computer, Thanks so much for your time.

A Retina screen will definitely not work on this model; the screen uses different signals coming from the logic board between the non-Retina and Retina models. I have not heard of 3rd party higher resolution screens for this model either, I guess it is possible to do this, but I don’t think anyone has taken the time to do this due to the age of the technology now. Logic board would also need some modification or additional PCB to support a higher resolution screen I imagine.
