Look in the phone book and count the number of PC repair places vs the number of Apple repair places. That will tell you how durable a Mac is. If you’re worried about software you can load your Mac up with an additional Windows operating system and have both. MS Office is crossgradable so you can have it on the Mac and the PC. If you can, find an old copy of Office 2011. My local university charged students $5.00 for it and it won’t expire and you don’t have to be leached every month. Go to your university computer store and see what cheap student software they offer and get it. Apple offers a student discount at their store if you have a valid .edu email address. Apple has on line tutorials on all their programs and they are easy to learn. If they are to tough for you, maybe you shouldn’t be going to college.
