I’m working on a MacBook Pro. The bottom case is damaged so I want to replace it. However, I want the serial number on the bottom case to match the Mac’s serial number. Is it possible to get a custom or no serial number on an iFixit or any other bottom case replacement?
I’ve never seen anyone offering the serial number engraving service. Most bottom cases around in the market are usually used replacements with the original serial. You can try reverting to chinese sellers, although I doubt it would be economically interesting even for them to offer such service and in the end you would probably see the number has been forged anyways.
When Apple or an ASP exchanges a bottom cover, they write the original serial number on the inside of the cover with a large black marker.
