Hello, Basically what happened is I tried to restore an iphone 5 to factory settings via hard reset with itunes, (it is not icloud locked I just wanted to update & restore the device) and now I am getting error 59, or 53, I cant remember, about 75% through the restore process. I found the phone was water damaged, so I removed the shields & cleaned the whole logic board, and I’m still getting the error. Does this mean A) The parts such as charger port/aux jack/speaker are broken and wont allow the phone to restore? B) The phone is fried …it was working before i did the restore If there is a way to revert back to its setting before the restore that would potentially help the issue. If thats possible? Any and all help is appreciated.
Hi Zachary, Did you notice any chips damaged or missing? Before and after clean? If so, it would be wise to replace them, as this may be the possible cause to your errors. You could also try the logic board in a known working housing with working parts, so you know it’s not the parts causing errors. :-)
