Chosen Solution
Hello! I have recently gotten my MacBook Pro’s Retina screen replaced because of two microcracks (dents not larger than 1 mm) in the glass, however, after only 2 months I got a very similar dent AGAIN! Unfortunately now my insurance has run out and I would never get it done again for the original price (708 euros), so I am interested to see how I can fix this myself. I simply can’t believe there is no way to solve this issue since the dent is extremely small (like the tip of a needle touched the screen really). I have read about people using windshield repair kits with resin or even LOCA glue to fill the dent, but I’m a bit scared to just try it out since I haven’t come across someone that had the exact same issue as me. Would love to hear any advice! (And yes, I’m buying a protective film for my screen in any case :)) Kind regards, Anne
Unfortunately it is unlikely you will be able to repair this with that kit, it would need the screen replacing. If you are talking about the coloured speck/dent which appears on the screen, this definitely will not be sorted. Same if it is a mark on the backlight (white speck on white screen). Maybe someone will be able to say otherwise from experience, but if it is either of the above scenarios, the kit will definitely not sort this out.
