I would not recommend doing this as the case on the lower edge will likely hit your heatsink damaging your SSD and/or logic board. As far a cooling of the SSD the placement of the SSD is not by chance! Being just above the ports where the fresh air enters from the port perforations cools the SSD. I doubt you’re altering the SSD’s drive cells that frequently to push the thermals beyond what the SSD can handle. If you are you likely have too small an SSD and/or the SSD does not have enough free space so it gets into trouble trying to wear level the cells. Smaller SSD’s need more free space. As an example a 128 to 256 GB SSD needs at least 1/3 of the drive empty and a 512 to 1TB at least 1/4 free. This is only as issue on boot drive SSD’s.
