i’ve got an iphone 6s that won’t boot. i don’t know the history of it.i’ve opened it. there’s no sign of physical damage and the LCI’s are still white. i’ve tried a good LCD screen and a good battery. i’ve tried the forced reset and attempted to boot to DFU and restore mode.i can’t get any response to the phone from itunes or 3utools.the only things i haven’t done is tried the mobo with a different charger board or a different base (in case there are issue with the buttons).if that step doesn’t pan out, is there anything that i’ve missed?anything else i should try?are there any tests that can be done without having to shell out hundreds of dollars for testing equipment? (i do this for a hobby, not to set up a new shop). any advice is appreciated. Thanks
A faulty charge port can stop a phone from booting. To rule out the charge port just disconnect it the iPhone 6s will boot up for a couple of minutes without it. If you wish to check the on button just disconnect the home button flex and short pin 11 to ground for 3 seconds. There is no need to remove the logic board into another housing to test the button. Even as a hobby I would suggest purchasing a second hand DCPS and multimeter, buy the latest power squid and you will be able to diagnose all of the iPhones from the 6 up.
