I just had my back panel replaced thru a 3rd party repair. The repairman used a B-7000 glue to seal the back, and i’m just wondering. If the phone is no longer 100% IP68, can it still survive the rain? Is there any other way to check without having it get dunked in water or rained on? Since the screen also has cracks right now and i don’t have enough money to have it repaired (esp. on samsung repair centers.

The adhesive that helps with liquid resistance is usually no good after a few months. What I mean by that, as a repair shop tech and owner, is that I wouldn’t trust it after 3 months of it being brand new. No matter how hard we independent shops try to seal the phone up, we can’t 100% maintain liquid resistance. As long as water doesn’t actually get inside the back of the phone, it should do ok in the rain. A few little drops here and there should be ok but don’t leave it out for very long.
