I have a district MacBook Pro with me that has been discontinued from the fleet that the tech teacher wants to use for her 3-D Printer, but it has an admin password on it that nobody at the district knows. Adding insult to injury, there is a firmware password on it so I cannot do a clean install of macOS. Does anyone know how to bypass the firmware password?
There’s no easy way to bypass firmware password..some have reportedly successfully cleared EFI but it’s a very complicated procedure requiring very deep coding knowledge and some tools such as Raspberry to interface with the chip, otherwise you may just brick the machine for good. It’s possible to replace the EFI chip itself from the logic board with a clean one but it requires good soldering skills and some possible glitches might occur in the end.
