The Burn option disappeared from Disk Utility and only Erase/Mount/Restore are available when insert my Sony USB stick. I want to burn a Windows 10 ISO to USB in order to repair my laptops.
On Mojave to burn a Windows 10 ISO to an USB, I recommend this because my cousin did it on his Mac last month and everything is fine. https://www.uubyte.com/burn-iso-to-usb-o…
Sadly the newer versions of macOS Disk Utility has dropped CD/DVD disk burning. Remember the last MacBook Pro to offer an internal optical drive was the 2012 series and the 2011 iMac. There are Unix commands that still available you could try in a terminal session. I personally haven’t tried this but see if it works Linux: How to burn a CD/DVD through the command line the commands should be the same. Or, buy a good macOS CD/DVD app.
You don’t burn to a USB. You burn to a CD or DVD. You can copy files to a USB stick for backup or tranfering between devices. For making a Windows Recovery USB see: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help… If all you want to do is have a handy USB stick with the ISO file on it just use File Manger to drag and drop the file from the location where it is saved, onto the USB stick. This will not make the USB stick bootable however.
Hi there, to create a bootable image on a mac you use the restore option. Alternatively you can use UNetbootin https://unetbootin.github.io/ Update (08/22/2019) The software I mentioned works on MacOS too now. go to the link, download the software and try it on your mac.
