I was replacing the screen on my iPhone 8, when the selfie Camera ribbon cable snapped. I have ordered a replacement, but is it OK to use the phone in the meantime with the cable snapped inside?
It depends on what sort of damage it sustained and where the damage to the cable is, but as a rule, I would avoid it. Any sort of exposed metal which has the potential to move around inside a powered on electronic device, is a disaster waiting to happen. It could potentially bridge lines of electrical connectivity and cause more damage. I have seen MacBooks murdered by a single screw which wiggled loose and wreaked havoc on the board.
