Chosen Solution
After replacing a screen for the phone the part that bends on the flex cable assembly tore off. Is there anyway possible to either tape it back or replace the home button and restore touch I’d? I’ve heard that it has been possible for people to replace the home button assembly and getting the touch Id to work somehow via dfu mode. Please help! All pins are in tact it’s literally that black ribbon piece that bends tore. EDIT (added picture)

Can you please post a picture of the damaged Home Button. There are a few options available to you depending on what the level of damage is and where it is located. Apple will replace the HB if you bring it in for a screen repair. The Link CCR posted is a solution but it isn’t a complete solution yet but can be useful if Apple refuses to do the repair and only offer to replace the deviceThere is a flex repair kit available but it really depends on where you’re HB was damaged. Either way, you are looking at having to spend around $100-150 to get this fixed.
