Hi, I am having some major trouble. It seems as if the socket on the logic board to connect the lcd is broken. The retainer gold bracket that goes over the socket has fallen off. The plastic on the socket also seems to have broken off. Is there a fix for this without buying a new logic board please help
Not an ideal repair but if it were mine I’d find a piece of the yellow tape Apple uses and make as good a connection as I could and tape it in place. Then I’d cross my fingers and see if it worked. Otherwise you are looking at logic board replacement. Ralph
hi, newhem, i don t know uf you can fix or not your problem chek this. http://translate.google.es/translate?hl=…|es&u=http://www.dhgate.com/wholesale/laptop%2… there you can buy the conector what you are looking for, then you need a hot air soldering to take out the broken conector and replace for the new one… the hot air soldering cost aproximately 60/80 Eur. regards, Luis.
I have nearly the same Problem. Fluid went between the connector and blow up 1-2 Pins. The Display dosn’t work. But I connect it to an extern display. It works. I have to buy the complet display, because the display and the wire/connector is one piece.
You could find a friend who can solder for you, I am not sure how small the pins are on the newer macbook pro’s as I am just now getting one and haven’t torn into it but the older 15" legacy ones were decent enough to work on if you had some thin solder and a fine tip.
