Hi guys, I was trying a dyi screen replacement on a friend’s iPad 4 Wi-Fi and I really messed up. Too much haste lead to me destroying the LCD connector on the logic board. My friend will like to recover the pics on the iPad (no iTunes or iCloud backup). What reliable paid services are available to get the pics recovered and maybe return the iPad to a working state? Thanks
This looks like a pretty standard repair. Based on the picture, it doesn’t look like any pads (on the pcb) were damaged. Any experienced micro-solderer should be able to replace the connector and fix the device. As for repair, look locally for a reputable shop that does micro-soldering repairs. Ideally, you want to find someone local but good workmanship trumps locality. There are many shops worldwide that do this so you shouldn’t have any problems finding them. Talk to them and ask how they do their work. Focus on good practices like proper cleaning of boards once completed etc. If you can’t find one locally, then consider mail-in repair. There are several reputable micro-solderers patrolling this forum.
