I just bought an iphone with a broken home button and power button. I think someone has already tried to repair this phone.it was opened at least once. The problem , one part is loose and i don’t know how it effects the functions of the iphone. i marked the part on the picture. anyone who can say what this chip is doing? it is under the tape
ChrisR, that is reference designator U16 and it is a AK8963C 14-pin WL-CSP (BGA) 3-axis electronic compass IC. Check the datasheet on here. Hope this helps, good luck.
