Hi, when replacing my battery I was removing the cable that connects the trackpad and the plastic cover on top of the connection broke off. I was still able to get the cable back into the Zif connector and the trackpad and keyboard still work fine. I believe this is the retaining tab mentioned in Step 19 of the battery replacement guide. Is this going to cause me any issues down the line? Anything I should do now? Thanks!
If it works you shouldn’t be worrying too much about, the cable isn’t very likely to go anywhere once it is in place. However, it wouldn’t harm securing it in place with a small piece of kapton tape or at least electrician tape just to be on the safe side.
