Since a few weeks ago I noticed that bright lights or images seep directly downwards into darker backgrounds on my laptop screen. It doesn’t even have to be black background, sometimes white images seep into bright colors. Since it doesn’t appear on screenshots I had to take a photo https://i.imgur.com/A1nkAxw.jpg It seeps only downwards, though if I look really closely I can see it seep a little upwards, but only when it’s blocked from seeping upwards. I tried to lower brightness and a several other changes in display settings but nothing works. I don’t think the screen was damaged, but I will say that there are marks on the screen, noticeable on darker backgrounds. In the image I posted you can see in the left bottom side two dark marks.

Hi @mitar334 Do you have access to a TV which has a HDMI port? If so it can be connected as an external monitor to the laptop. All you need is a suitable HDMI cable i.e. one that has connectors at each end that will fit into the ports on the laptop and the TV. (they may be different size HDMI connectors or they could be the same size) It would be better if you could try connecting an external monitor (of any kind - i.e. TV, PC monitor etc) as that will help to determine where the problem may be. If the display on the external monitor is the same as the laptop’s display then the problem is on the motherboard. If the external monitor’s display is OK it will be the laptop screen that is the problem. If you determine the the laptop screen is the problem, here’s the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop. Go to p.51 to view the procedure to remove the LCD panel. Here’s the parts list for the laptop. Click on Select Commodity > LCD panels (14) to find the part numbers for all the LCD panels available for the model. The hard part with this is finding the exact one that you have now. They will all work with your laptop but some may not be as good as what you have i.e. some are only HD (720 x 1280) whilst others are FHD (1920 x 1080) The quickest way to find the model number of the screen you want is to remove the LCD panel from your laptop and check on the back of the panel as the number is usually there somewhere. Once you have found the part number, search online using the part number only to find suppliers that suit you best.
