I got my PS4 Pro in April brand new. It won’t read discs properly. I have a regular PS4 as well and all our discs don’t read properly on the pro. The game’s loading screen pulls up like the game is about to start, but then I get a “cannot recognize disc" error. It is obviously reading the disc or how else would the game’s loading screen pull up? If I do this a bunch eventually the game loads, but now its loading less and less often.. These discs work fine on our other PS4. Tried rebuilding the database and it just made it worse. I have had enough ps4 reinitializing heartbreak in my time to want to do it again on a brand new console. Did I get a lemon? Is there a fix for this? Or is the PS4 pro’s disc drive generally inferior to the regular ps4? Not even sure if I’ll be able to find the receipt to get a replacement.
It’s a laser / gearing fault. I would get it returned for warranty.
