Hello friends. I recently managed to install two SSD’s in my 13” MacBook Pro Mid 2012. I had problems at first, but it was all the fault of the optical drive caddy. It did not work in my system and I had to buy another. I now works super well. I want to use the two SSD drives of 500 GB to become a RAID 0 set to make a 1 TB drive. I put them in RAID 0 and I installed the backup that I had made. I do not know that when it installs everything that the computer makes the both I get the Apple but he does not want to bother. Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong?
As how to setup the RAID 0 - Here’s a good reference: Use Disk Utility to Create a RAID 0 (Striped) Array. You’ll have issues with newer MacOS releases as Apple does not support RAID 0 under Sierra or High Sierra (even though their documentation states otherwise. I haven’t had a chance to see if Mojave (10.14.x) fixes the issues or not. With Sierra and High Sierra Apple added support for a newer format structure to give SSD’s better performance - APFS. But in the process had issues with Fusion drives and RAID so these options were turned off as far as I could tell, Apple never posted any notation on RAID but did so with Fusion Drives.
