so basically i’ve narrowed it down to the speaker thingy with the 4 pins on the back. if i remove that and only that the phone beets up. i have no idea what to do. Edit#1 I have tried booting without the speaker, but while pressing the proximity sensor down into place and it didn’t boot. so it must be the sensor. But if the sensor isnt being pressed down it works. What do i do?

(THIS MAY NOT BE THE TYPE OF ANSWER YOU’RE LOOKING FOR) I basically grinded down the metal selfie camera thing that holds it in place, so that it literally only covers the camera and not the speaker. I only put in the bottom 2 screws on the speaker. I also had to sand off the top right corner of the speaker to remove the screw hole so that when I attach the camera mount it doesn’t tighten the speaker. I agree I probably could have done a better job at fixing it correctly and I still don’t know what the root of the issue is, but incase anyone else has this exact issue this worked for me.

If it works without front camera (FCAM) cable plugged in and no pins look damaged on the board you need to replace the FCAM flex cable and that will fix the problem. iPhone 8 Front Camera and Sensor Cable Replacement iPhone 8 Front Camera and Sensor Cable

I think you have to check if the flex cable isn’t broken otherwise you need a new proximity sensor .

You know you can buy a new screen with the earpiece speaker and proximity sensor already installed for around 30 to 40 dollars fixez.com all of have a do is change the home button and it should work fine.
