with my iPhone 6S, or any other phone, the car stereo is only 2 years old, anyone have any idea to fix? went to JVC help page, could be a firmware update to help but was a file that i couldn’t even open on Windows.. think it was an rar? file $30 paypal reward THANK YOU< WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED

Hi, here’s how to update the firmware.

  1. Firmware is at this page along with manual to upgrade. http://www.jvc.net/cs/car/firmware/2014/…
  2. Download the firmware (ends in .rom) at the bottom of the page.
  3. Copy the Firmware to a thumb drive.
  4. Connect Thumb drive to the radio
  5. Press and hold MENU
  6. Turn VOL knob and select SETTINGS, then press the VOL knob
  7. Turn VOL knob and select F/W Update, then press the VOL knob
  8. Turn VOL knob and select SYSTEM, then press the VOL knob
  9. Press the VOL knob again
  10. Turn VOL knob and select YES, then press the VOL knob The firmware should update at this point.
  11. After about 5 minutes the update should complete. Press the Detach to button Release the faceplate
  12. Press the RESET button for the update to take affect. and put the faceplate back on.
