Hi, I just replaced the broken display (dropped) to a new one and the result was as in the photo.
The display with a wide black band at the left center…. I checked again the connectors by disconnecting and reconnecting again but no change. An external display shows perfectly and therefore no issue on GPU, if I understand well. I also called the shop where I bought the display (Ali Express), but they said the display was passed their inspection correctly. I will try to replace the flat display cable, but anything else should I do? Any suggestion please?
Ouch! Not good ;-{ You need a new display assembly as something heavy was pressed on the lower edge of the lid or the system got a good bang along it. Basically, the vertical data lines within the LCD got damaged which tells the black areas pixels to light. based what it is showed, I think, it is display issue. GPU for sure no because usually all screen will do something. Could be display cable also. But if you bought assembly they come with cable
