Dear friends, I am facing a problem that has lasted a few months. On a hot day my Macbook late 2007 hung alone himself then felt a burning smell coming from inside. The logic board was burned, but was exchanged for another. When I connect the Macbook, the screen is black, it was possible to hear the startup sound and I if illuminating with a flashlight was possible to see the apple symbol. He also turned on the cooler, but not progressed beyond that. I received several recommendations from people to replace the Inverter cable and Inverter board. I did it, but the problem continues, the black screen. Is it a problem in this logic board that changed, or is it some software error?? Thanks.

If you connect to an external monitor and see a normal picture your Logic board/VGU or VGC is fine and the problem is most likely the display. If, however, an external monitor does not work then IMO the problem is the GPU/VGC (logic board). If this answer is acceptable please remember to return and mark it.

The lack of back light is typically either a display issue or an issue with the logic boards back light circuit. I would test with a different display assembly, and if the back light still isn’t turning on then you have a bad back light circuit.
