Hello iFixit. I replaced my screen on my Macbook Pro, and when i set the new screen in and power on, I hear the startup sound, but just black screen. When I try to close the lit, 2cm from totally closed it turns on, and then works fine. I have tried: Resetting NVRAM / PRAM Resetting the “SMC” Start up into Safe Mode Edit:When i log in and try to put into sleep mode, it works fine. It seems like it’s only on the login screen.

Could be a bad LCD cable or a faulty LCD panel ribbon (sometimes the picture can cut out at certain angles), I would recommend trying the old screen to see if it is fine. Also try running a magnet along the left side of the palmrest (to the left of the keyboard along the top), to see if the screen tries to turn on. When the Macbook detects a magnet in this area, it thinks the lid is shut (so it will turn the screen off), this could be the problem? I would most likely say a faulty LCD assembly though. Try your old one and see if it is fine.
