Chosen Solution
Had my ipad 4 charging and then heard a “pop” sound. Now of course it will not turn on, does not register in itunes and will not charge. Im thinking it my either be the logic board or the lightning adapter. Leaning towards the logic board tho.. anyone else have this happen? Side note, this has not been dropped or had water on it.
Start by trying a new (preferably known-good) charging brick and Lightning cable. If that doesn’t help, then the issue is within the iPad itself. This could be a charge port issue or logic board issue but either way, it will have to be opened up to start the troubleshooting. If you want to try that yourself, use this guide to open the device.
