Hi, The screen on my MacBook (Late 2008) does not work. An external display works well. However, when I go to system preferences -> display, it’s as though the 13" display does not exist. I have tried removing the battery, and resetting the NVRAM. Any suggestions are welcome
You can try disconnecting the display cable and reconnecting it. It’s step 9 in this guide: MacBook Unibody Model A1278 LCD Panel Replacement
Thanks Michael. It turns out that the cable was damaged and must be replaced. I am going to let a professional do it.
