I have a generation 2 Ipad A1395. The screen is black with the apple coming on and then going VERY dim to where I can barely see it. I have tried the TAP TAP TAP trick. I have held down to do a reset. I have plugged it into the computer while holding the button. I have put a plastic piece under the area inside the Ipad where it is supposed to be helping with the dim feature. I have REPLACED THE LCD screen. Nothing I have done has obviously fixed the problem. Where do I go from here? Any help would be great!
Well, if I have to guess: if resetting (Power + Home Button pressed together for ~15 seconds) doesn’t bring back the normal level of light; AND, replacing the LCD cable then the LCD itself doesn’t solve it; Then you probably have an issue with the board / the backlight circuit. Proper troubleshooting should be done at board level (LCD connector, filters, diodes, etc.) If you have the schematics, the tools, and the needed knowledge to troubleshoot the board, this is the way to go. If not, you will have to send it out or take it to someone who has the knowledge and the tools. If you need advice as to who may be able to fix it for your, let me know where you’re located.
when did it start? When you were doing a digitizer replacement? Sounds to me like you may have burned up the backlight filter.
