Hi everyone, I have attempted to have my iphone 6 repaired by local repair stores to no avail. I’m doing this myself now. (If you want it done right do it yourself.) As of last night I picked up my phone and hit the sleep/wake button and my screen had black/white vertical lines on right side of the screen that faded back to black. I instantly did a factory reset it. The screen never turned back on and has stayed black. I then hooked up my phone via usb and my computer/itunes couldn’t find it. I’ve tried multiple ports and restarting. But I noticed when it is hooked up to the usb it gets hot right under the front camera/speaker. I’m figuring the lcd is bad but what else should I look for and/or replace when I start the repair? Digitizer? Backlight? Motherboard?

This one could be lots of fun :>). Please let us know what the original failure was and why it was being repaired. I assume a cracked screen but was there something more? The phone not being recognized by iTunes leads me to believe there is a problem with either the charge port or the Tristar IC (sometimes called U2). The charge port is easy to replace although you have to buy one from a reputable source like iFixit. If that doesn’t solve the recognition problem, then you probably have a defective Tristar, Unfortunately, this is not a DIY repair as it requires micro-soldering. The heat generated could be caused by a bad front camera flex or defective screen replacement. Your problems could be caused by a lot of things, please give us more background on why you had your phone repaired in the first place and what the repair shop did so that we can give you better answers.
