Hello, I put the wrong screw in to the plastic screw way/hole (whatever you call it) and it is now stuck. It is ph00 head (same across the laptop). Please help me to get it out. Can I use superglue? or is there a better way to do it?
Thanks.
Personally I wouldn’t use the glue as it will just fill the screw head and complicate the job. Stuck screw: Most important is that correct size screw driver is used so you get maximum torque. IFIXIT’s Jimmy (best) Jimmy or a pocket or Swiss Army knifer blade to wedge under screw head to give leverage.
I have only encountered a few issues like this but I would try. 1.) Finding something like a pick or an item thin enough to fit in the gap between the screw head & plastic to give you some leverage as you turn the screw. 2.) Place some strong glue into the screw head then insert your screwdriver see if that gives you enough grip to get it out. 3.) If you have a strong magnet attach this to your screwdriver as some times some extra magnet strength can help. Please let me know if any of these worked, if you tried something else could you let me know what you tired as i would also like to learn a few other ways for those tough screws.
Go to the hardware store and purchase a screw extractor. They are not expensive. Like this: https://www.supercheapauto.co.nz/p/sca-s… Job done.
