My 2006 Mazda 3 threw a rod. I’m looking for a replacement engine. What I need to know is if I can get an at engine for my manual car and just swap the flex plate for the flywheel. I’ve heard rumors that the bell housings are different. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

As long as you get the same motor then it should just bolt up , doesn’t matter if it was auto or standard . you will have to change the flywheel ,just use your old one . you will also need the spacer plate for the starter from your old engine (depending on the year) as well
