The battery status at the top left corner of my 17 says Service Battery. Charging is currently working fine, it also works fine without the A/C source at charge. Does anyone Macbook Pro 17 owner have this same problem? If so please kindly advise, thank you'
Could be your battery is swelling or damaged (I had one that got cracked - impossible to see until it was lifted out of the case) Damaged Li-Ion Batteries can cause fires do not delay finding the true issue causing this battery condition.
